When Will Camden’s Free Summer Meals Program Start? Here’s How to Find Out

Published

on

If you’ve been wondering when Camden’s free summer meals program kicks off this year, you’re not alone. It’s one of the most asked questions from parents this time of year, and for good reason. Through the Camden City School District’s School Nutrition Program, kids 18 and under can eat free breakfast and lunch at school sites across the city all summer long, no paperwork required.

As of now, the district hasn’t released its official 2026 start date or list of meal sites. In past summers, that announcement has come out in late June or early July, so it’s still on the way. The good news is there are two easy ways to stay ahead of it. The USDA’s Meal Locator tool at fns.usda.gov/sfsp/sitefinder lets families search by zip code and updates as soon as local sites go live for the summer. You can also reach out directly to CCSD’s School Nutrition Office, led by Arlethia Brown, at (856) 966-2000 ext. 38825 for the most current information.

Camden families have come to count on this program every summer, and it’s worth the short wait. Keep an eye on CCSD’s website and social media pages for the official kickoff, and we’ll be sure to pass along the dates here on Camden One as soon as they’re confirmed.
