Camden Flag Football

In today’s times, it’s clear that football belongs to all genders – as witnessed by increasing female participation across all levels since its inception in 1869! Camden Women’s Flag Football continues this proud tradition by offering opportunities for ambitious players who have longed for competitive games! Any skeptics can rest assured after attending the event that these women are just as exciting as their counterparts.

The CWFFL (Camden Women’s Flag Football League) game day kicked off midday, with the first game starting at 12pm. Snatch Gang vs Lady Hawks set the day off first, making history for the start of the season. I can only imagine the nerves of being the first game of the day. That showdown ended with Snatch Gang upsetting the Lady Hawks

Next up was Go Gettas vs Vicious Dolls which ended up with a final score of 2 for each team, ending in a tie for that game. Then came Tee Angels vs Dream Killas, which ended up with Dream Killas being the victor. Next to last was Team Blaze vs Top Notch, which led to a win for Blaze.

The last game of the day and the “game of the week,” was Lady Wildcats vs Hail Marys. A very exciting game with an entertaining entrance by the Lady Wildcats. That game ended with Hail Mary finishing with the W.

The event showcased how sport can bring people together beautifully. People from all around the community gathered in huge numbers to display their solidarity- making the whole affair much more significant. The day embodied unbridled sportsmanship alongside high energy and unforgettable moments; overall exceeding all anticipations.

Women’s Flag Football League Week One was a huge success.

The league season is far from over, so make sure to mark your calendars and come out to support these amazing athletes in the coming weeks!
