Last night there was a gathering of some of the greatest local hip hop artists in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area all united in the historic Camden High School Gym. Many with decades of experience and accolades from their peers and the public, to some of the more unfamiliar artists. Taking nothing away from either group and those who may fall in between, everyone who performed displayed a high level of talent and skill.
The event, organized by Hamin Anderson (a local artist himself) showcased over 30 solo and group acts performing mostly hip hop. The event was billed as the last public event for the High School as it is soon to be renovated. However, the fate of the school did not damper the spirit of the performances and was a bit nostalgic as some attended the high school themselves.
