Camden Works To Combat Hunger

Camden is a city with a poverty rate of 36.4%, hunger is prevalent and for many a way of life. However there is hope, multiple donation sites are committed to eliminating hunger. First up, is Cathedral Kitchen which is located at 1514 Federal Street, this site provides dinner to the public between the hours of 4PM and 5PM Monday through Friday, with lunch served on Saturdays from 12-1PM. 

The Perfecting Church partnered with the Food Bank of South Jersey and Camden’s Charter School Network to provide groceries for our Cramer Hill family. The pantry is managed by local volunteers and Camden Academy High School students. It happens every third Saturday of the month from 9:00am – 11:00am. 

Finally, bring your ID because these food bank carts. Camden residents only come to 1300 Thurman for some non-perishables on the 2nd Wednesday and 4th Saturday of every month between 12 – 2PM. This site wants to be certain it is servicing residents of the city. These sites understand that we all play a part in eliminating hunger -don’t forget these places do accept donations none too big or small.
