“Call Her King” is written and directed by Wes Miller, who is known for his thrilling movies like “A Day to Die” and “Hell on the Border.” Miller grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated with a law degree, in which he practiced until 2015, thus leaving and committing fully to storytelling. This is the first production from Miller’s production company, Blacklight Entertainment, co-founded by Andrew Van Den Houten. Blacklight’s mission is to provide opportunities for people of color in the film industry.

Filmed locally, between Camden and Gloucester County, this is the latest slice of Hollywood, coming to the South Jersey area. Partnered with The South Jersey Film Office Cooperative,  an initiative to encourage incentives for the film and television industry, whose recent work includes M. Night Shyamalan’s feature film, “Knock at the Cabin,” filmed primarily in Tabernacle, New Jersey.
