The Camden Education Fund (CEF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating progress in Camden’s public school system. The fund works with families, school partners, and community leaders to identify citywide needs in education; it then provides grants and develops strategic partnerships to address these needs. Grantees include schools, non-profits, and universities.
This year Camden nonprofits that service the youth will be getting a boost thanks to the The Camden Education Fund. The CEF, has announced the launch of its 2022 Youth-Serving Organization (YSO) Grant Program, “ to provide funding to outstanding, Camden-led nonprofits that offer support services to students outside of the classroom, including mentoring, mental health services, academic tutoring, and opportunities in the arts.”
Up to 15 organizations will be awarded $5,000; up to 5 organizations will be awarded $25,000; and up to 5 organizations will be awarded $40,000. Eligible organizations are Camden City-based nonprofit organizations that serve youngsters ages 3 to 18. In 2021, Camden Education Fund launched the Youth-Serving Organization Grant Program for the first time, awarding grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 to 21 non-profit organizations.
Among last year’s recipients were the Camden Dream Center, LUCY Outreach, and the DaeLight Foundation. Grant recipients also participated in capacity-building and networking sessions hosted by accounting firm Holmes & Company. Organizations looking to be awarded a grant can find out more information.
